Write-On Publishing, in association with the Warkworth War Memorial Library and the Warkworth Writing Group, will be presenting the Warkworth Author Expo in early 2026!
The event, inspired by a conversation with one of the members of the Warkworth Writing Group just a few days ago, will hopefully take place in late February or early March next year.
At a recent chat over coffee with some members of the Warkworth Writing Group, author Mari Bennett commented on the lack of a platform for local authors to showcase their work, and thought there should be a “Warkworth Book Fair”.
I have been involved with Book Fairs in South Africa, and have also hosted a number of Author Events, so Mari’s comments set off a train of thought!
It occurred to me later that day that what Mari was actually looking for not a Book Fair as such, but an “Author Expo”.

I develop the idea over the weekend, combined it with another concept that I have been working on, and presented it to Katie Mitchell at the Warkworth War Memorial Library, where it was enthusiastically received, and subsequently endorsed by the Library management.
The Expo will most likely involve each author getting a table to showcase their work, but details of date, venue and final format will be worked out in the weeks after the Christmas holidays, so watch this space!!
